Build New Pages That Strengthen Your Website and SEO

Welcome to your step-by-step guide on adding a new page to your GoDaddy website. Whether you’re expanding your site with new service pages, landing pages, or a fresh blog section, GoDaddy makes it easy to add and customise new pages without needing technical experience. With the built-in drag-and-drop editor, you can create professional, SEO-friendly pages in just a few clicks.

Why Adding New Pages Strategically Grows Your Business

Every new page you add to your website is an opportunity to attract more customers, showcase additional services, and improve your search engine visibility. When you create well-optimised pages that address specific customer needs or highlight particular aspects of your business, you're essentially opening new doorways for potential customers to discover you online. Each page can target different keywords, serve different customer segments, and provide focused information that helps visitors understand exactly how you can help them.

The strategic benefits are significant:

  • Each new page creates additional opportunities to rank in search engines

  • Focused pages convert better than trying to cover everything on one page

  • Organised site structure builds trust and professionalism

  • Specific landing pages can be used for targeted marketing campaigns

  • Comprehensive content demonstrates expertise and authority in your field

Planning Your New Page Strategy

Identifying Page Opportunities

Service Expansion Pages: Create dedicated pages for specific services or specialisations:

  • Emergency Plumbing Services" (separate from general plumbing)

  • Wedding Photography Packages" (distinct from general photography)

  • Small Business Accounting" (focused on a specific market segment)

Geographic Pages: If you serve multiple areas, create location-specific pages:

  • "Web Design Services in Manchester"

  • "Plumbing Services in Leeds"

  • "Catering for Birmingham Events"

Content and Resource Pages: Provide valuable information that attracts and educates visitors:

  • "Complete Guide to Website Maintenance"

  • "How to Choose the Right Accountant"

  • "Wedding Planning Timeline and Checklist"

Portfolio and Case Study Pages: Showcase your work and success stories:

  • "Recent Website Projects"

  • "Client Success Stories"

  • "Before and After Gallery"

Content Planning Framework

Define Your Page Purpose:

  • What specific goal does this page serve?

  • What action do you want visitors to take?

  • How does it fit into your overall site strategy?

Identify Your Target Audience:

  • Who specifically is this page for?

  • What questions or concerns do they have?

  • What information do they need to make a decision?

Plan Your Content Structure:

  • What key points need to be covered?

  • What images or media will enhance the content?

  • How will you guide visitors to take action?

Step-by-Step Guide to Adding a New Page

Step 1: Access Your GoDaddy Editor

  1. From your dashboard, go to website

  2. Then in the top left under Your Website click Edit Website.

  3. The Website Builder opens with your homepage displayed by default.

Step 2: Open the Pages Menu

  1. In the top right of the Website Builder above your Home page is a + click it

  1. Give the page a title. Enter a descriptive title for your page

    •    This appears in navigation and browser tabs

    •    Keep it clear and keyword-rich

    •    Example: "Emergency Plumbing Services Manchester.

  2. Select where your page appears. Your new page can be added to your site's main navigation and footer, or neither to "hide" your page.

    • Show in Navigation: Displays a link to the page in the top, header navigation. If your page does not show in navigation (header or footer), you can still link to it from other pages or send people a direct link to it.

    • Show in Footer: Displays a link to the page at the bottom of each page.

    • Private Pages: These are like regular pages, except they're only visible to members. Any page except your home page can be a private page. Learn more about managing private pages.

  3. Click the Create Page button at the bottom of the list.

Step 3: Add and Arrange Content Sections

All GoDaddy pages are made up of sections. You add, edit and move sections to build pages.

  1. To add a new section, click the + Add Section icon where you want the new block to appear.

  2. Choose from GoDaddy’s pre-built section types. There is a large selection of section types so it is worth spending the time to make sure you have the correct type for your need as GoDaddy has limited editing ability of the section structure.

  3. To move a section around on the page use the < and > to move it up or down.

  4. To remove a section, hover over it and click the Trash (🗑️) icon.

  5. Confirm deletion (this cannot be undone).

Tip: Keep your pages focused with a clear outcome.

Step 4: Edit and Customise Content

  1. Click into any text area to edit or replace content.

  2. Replace placeholder images with your own visuals.

  3. Customise buttons with action-focused text:

    • “Get a Quote”, “Contact Us”, or “See Our Work.”

Tip: Ensure your new content matches the tone and design style of your existing pages for consistency.

Step 5: Preview and Test Your Page

  1. Click Preview in the top-right corner of the editor.

  2. Review how your new page appears on both desktop and mobile.

  3. Test all links, buttons, and navigation menus.

  4. Adjust spacing, font sizes, and visuals as needed.

Tip: Always test on mobile—over 60% of visitors now browse from phones.

Step 6: Add Your Page to Navigation

  1. You can also nest it under another page to create a dropdown menu.

  2. Example: “About Us” → “Our Story”, “Our Team.”

  3. Click Done to save your navigation order.

Tip: Keep your main navigation to 5–7 top-level items for simplicity.

Step 7: Publish Your New Page

  1. When your page is ready, click Publish in the top-right corner.

  2. GoDaddy will automatically update your sitemap and make the page live.

  3. Visit your live site to confirm your new page appears correctly.

If the page doesn’t appear, clear your browser cache or refresh your site.

Step 8: Link Your New Page Across the Site

  1. Add internal links to your new page from relevant sections on other pages.

    • Example: Add a link to your new “Services” page from the homepage hero or footer.

  2. Update any call-to-action buttons or navigation links to include your new page.

  3. Add a brief introduction and link in your blog or newsletter if relevant.

Internal linking helps both users and search engines discover your new content faster.
